The inagural awards ceremony for the Budgie Low Cost Airline Awards, organised by Terrapinn, took place on Tuesday (18 September).
The Budgie Awardswere reportedly devised to recognise the leaders, innovators, creative talents, and pioneers in the global Low Cost Airlines industry.
The award for Best Newcomer Winner went to Clickair; Best Service Provider was SR Technics; Best Technology Provider was Radixx International; and the winner of Best Airport was Singapore Changi Airport.
Other winners on the night included: Oasis Hong Kong as Best Business Class Carrier and Best New Service; while Best Passenger Experience went to JetBlue; and Best Low Cost Airline was Ryanair.
The judging panel for this year's award was comprised of John Strickland, CEO, JLS Consulting; Jay Sorensen, CEO, IdeaWorks; Ian Harbinson, editor, Low Cost Airlines Business; Peter Harbinson, executive director, Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation; and Andew Herdman, director general, AAPA.
