Portland-Amsterdam Service announced by Northwest Airlines

Northwest Airlines (NYSE:NWA) has announced that, in cooperation with its joint venture partner KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, it is to launch a new daily nonstop service from Portland, Oregon to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, effective 29 March 2008.

The company said that the Portland-Amsterdam service will operate into the Northwest/KLM hub at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport, and will also provide connections to destinations beyond Portland via partner airlines Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. The route will be operated by Northwest using Airbus A330-200 aircraft, providing 32 seats in World Business Class and 211 economy class seats.

Northwest's new Portland-Amsterdam flights are now available for sale through the airline's website at http://www.nwa.com, Northwest Reservations Centres, or through travel agents.
