BRIEF: American Airlines to close Cincinnati reservations office

Oct. 11, 2007

Oct. 10--American Airlines Inc. said Wednesday it is closing its Cincinnati, Ohio, reservations office, a consolidation move that will displace about 450 employees by September 2008.

The Fort Worth-based airline said it will offer the affected workers other jobs, either at other reservations offices or as home-based agents.

"We greatly value the contributions of our Cincinnati team, and we truly hope that all of them will choose to remain with American," said Bella Goren, American's senior vice president of customer relationship marketing and reservations.

The company said its landlord at the Cincinnati reservations office had recently told the company the building would be converted to residences.
