Oct. 17--For the 21st consecutive month, more people passed through the gates of Kansas City International Airport than the same time a year earlier.
In September, 903,252 passengers arrived at or departed from KCI, according to the Kansas City Aviation Department. That's a 7.2 percent increase from September 2006.
For the year to date, KCI has recorded nearly 8.5 million passengers, almost a 7.7 percent increase over the same period in 2006.
The airport is expected to top 11 million passengers for the first time since 2001 and only the fifth time since it opened in 1972.
