CARLSBAD -- Construction began this week on a new $24 million terminal for the McClellan-Palomar Airport.
The 18,000-square-foot building will have high-tech screening areas, a spacious lobby, a customs office, a restaurant and three new parking lots.
County Supervisor Bill Horn and other county officials kicked off construction Tuesday morning.
The new terminal will replace a mishmash of buildings that made up the 48-year-old airport. The project is expected to be finished by November 2008.
