THE GUARDIAN -- British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has unveiled new measures to protect the nation's airports, stations, shopping centers and sports venues from terrorist attacks, reports the Guardian (U.K.).
The recommendations include proposals to build anti-terror capabilities into the design of buildings where large numbers of people gather.
Brown also proposed a new security unit, including establishment police and intelligence officials, to investigate those at risk of falling under the influence of extremists.
Tightened security measures will also be implemented at the U.K.'sbusiest 250 rail stations as well as airports, sea ports and other sensitive locations.
