ORLANDO -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc., announced today that it has awarded Israel Aerospace Industries' Bedek Group a long-term contract for landing gear maintenance covering its entire fleet of Boeing 737NG aircraft.

"AirTran Airways regards IAI's Bedek Group as one of our superior suppliers of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services," says Stephen Kolski, AirTran Airways' senior vice president for operations. "In terms of cost, quality and service, we have found IAI's Bedek Group ready, willing and able to consistently live up to its commitments. They have proven themselves to be a partner in every sense of the word."

AirTran Airways has ordered 115 Boeing 737NG aircraft and taken delivery of 50 to date. AirTran Airways also operates 87 Boeing 717 aircraft and has the youngest, all-Boeing fleet in North America.

Danny Kleiman, IAI vice president and Bedek Group general manager, says his organization looks forward to extending its ongoing relationship with AirTran Airways.

"We are very pleased to expand our long-term business relationship with AirTran Airways," Kleiman says. "AirTran Airways has been a distinguished customer of IAI-Bedek for the last decade. The new contract for maintenance of Boeing 737NG landing gear and other components allows AirTran Airways and Bedek to reduce costs while maintaining the highest levels of quality and service."
