Midwest Pilots Say Airline Is About To Change

Uncertainty about layoffs; outsourced flight crews

MILWAUKEE --

The pilots union said the original flight crew is being outsourced, and will stop flying in November when the airline stops flying Boeing 717s.

Lay-off notices were handed out earlier this month, after Republic Airlines took over Midwest.

At that time, the two pilots unions were negotiating a possible integration.

Neither side has said what happened during those negotiations.

Midwest pilots said that when they leave, the public will lose more experienced pilots.
