Olympic Air, a Greek carrier, on Friday announced that it has signed a code share agreement with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

Under the agreement, both carriers will be able to market flights between Amsterdam Schipol Airport and Athens International Airport for connecting traffic under each others flight numbers. Both carriers already operate flights on this route and the code share will allow Olympic Air to increase the number of offerings a week to 16 from nine and for KLM to offer three daily flights from its current two. On 12 September 2011 the code share was enhanced with the offering of eight destinations to KLM passengers in the Greek domestic market and eight European destinations for Olympic Air passengers. According to the terms of the enhanced code share, KLM passengers will be able to book a KLM flight between Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" and Alexandroupoli, Santorini, Chania, Heraklion, Ioannina, Kos, Rhodes and Thessaloniki, for connecting services operated by Olympic Air. In return Olympic Air passengers will be able to connect at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport for flights to Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Goteborg, Hamburg, Manchester, Oslo and Stockholm under an Olympic Air flight number.
