The City of Buffalo and near-by Niagara Falls invite you to "Shuffle off to Buffalo", participate in the 2012 Symposium and explore the beauty of its northeastern region. This symposium is presented by the ANMS Planning Committee and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

Annually, this symposium invites the key players-FAA, airports, community groups, consultants and manufacturers-to share their collective knowledge, experience and ideas on maximizing the benefits of noise mitigation. This year the agenda will focus on "Keeping Your Balance in Trying Times". Due to the efforts of these dedicated professionals, measurable reductions of aircraft noise in the vicinity of airports have been achieved. The quieting of aircraft engines and the sound insulation of homes have been two major contributors to this success.

Today, hundreds of individuals living in communities that surround airports benefit from these programs. Each strategy for noise mitigation-sound insulation, land acquisition, land use planning and re-zoning-is reviewed annually during the symposium. Every noise mitigation program is unique and often creates challenges for those responsible for implementation.

A tour of Buffalo Niagara International's Noise Mitigation Program is planned as part of the symposium's agenda, which promises to be one of its best ever. It will also include focused general sessions, moderated discussions, interactive panels and ample time for networking opportunities.
