Things are looking up. Or, at least that is what a number of you have been telling me these last few weeks. Going into the last quarter of the year, many aviation ground support companies report that orders are up and in some cases, actually double from last year.
It's all work and no play ... really. I got to try my hand at the remote controls for IC Industrial Consulting's OmniMove vehicle at InterAirport Munich in October.

Things are looking up. Or, at least that is what a number of you have been telling me these last few weeks. Going into the last quarter of the year, many aviation ground support companies report that orders are up and in some cases, actually double from last year. Let's hope that trend continues.

Ground Support Magazine was on hand at last month's InterAirport-Munich as well as at the National Business Aviation Association's (NBAA) convention in Orlando, FL and we are pleased to report first-hand that new equipment is being unveiled and that new contracts are being signed. Interviews with vendors at the Munich show revealed that while business prospects in the Asia/Pacific Rim territory look favorable, a new market appears to be emerging quickly, Eastern Europe. Representatives from several airlines from Eastern European countries were present to spec equipment for their up and coming operations.

British Airport Services and Equipment Association's (BASEA) Administrator, Janet Rose, reiterated that this is a trend by stating that BASEA is organizing several"mission" to Asian and Eastern European countries for its members in 2004 to help those members generate new business.

All in all, 2004 looks to show some promise for our industry. Ground Support Magazine loves to report good news, so please keep us informed on any new business, new contracts, and new equipment developments. We look forward to hearing from you.

This month, Ground Support brings you our annual Product Showcase chock full of over 250 products and services. Keep this issue as a ready reference resource for the coming year. These products and more are also featured on the Ground Support Online Buyers Guide at www.groundsupportmagazine.com and many will be on hand at the GSE International Expo in Las Vegas, May 18-20, 2004.
