The CastingScope from Lenox is designed to inspect metal castings and other rugged, hard-to-access areas. The CastingScope’s unique feature is its renewable front probe; after thousands of inspections, the worn insertion probe can be easily and economically replaced with a new one. These flexible instruments are capable of viewing the inner workings of complex castings such as cylinder heads and engine blocks. Images are then displayed on a color monitor for operator comfort. The CastingScope is available with probe diameters of 3.5 mm (.138 inch) and 6 mm (.236 inch); probe length is 200 mm (7.9 inches) or longer. For more information call (800) 356-1104 or visit

Custom Tool Kitting

The Stanley-Proto Custom Tool Kitting program (CTK) offers two major benefits: It lets customers assemble the exact set of tools they need for their trade, and puts those tools in a storage system that makes it easy to confirm that each tool is returned to its proper place after use. This helps prevent foreign object damage (FOD), damage caused by a missing, broken, or a tool mistakenly left in an aircraft or engine after maintenance. Tools can be placed in one of a number of storage systems, including various toolboxes, briefcases, and soft-sided pouches that can hold anywhere from five to 500 tools. These cases or cabinets include polyurethane foam inserts with cavities precut to the profiles of each individual tool. The inserts let technicians easily find any tool, and immediately spot missing tools after finishing a job. For more information call (800) 800-TOOL or visit

Electric Engine Heater

The AeroTherm electric engine heater from Sporty’s supplies 190 F air to the engine compartment, evenly and consistently heating all parts of the engine with no bulky propane tank to haul around or refill. With 500-, 1,000-, and 1,500-watt settings and a thermostat, the heater can remain plugged in all winter long maintaining an optimum, preselected temperature for pennies a day. Used as a preheater, it will warm the engine enough for starting in about an hour, or completely warm the engine in three hours with an outside temperature of 0 F. Included are two hoses, a stand, carrying case, a nylon suspension band for hanging the unit from the prop, and four sponges to seal the engine intakes for increasingly warm air.
