Baker’s School of Aeronautics

Baker’s School of Aeronautics has been recognized as the first corporate sponsor of AMTSociety, enrolling for sponsorship this January. Jennifer C. Baker, owner/president of the Nashville, TN-based school was presented a plaque and tribute by Tom Hendershot, AMTSociety executive director, at the 41st Tennessee Mid-South Aviation Maintenance Conference on March 5, 2007.
AMTSociety jacket awarded
Kate L. Larson, shown, is the winner of an AMTSociety jacket. Greg Napert drew her name on March 21 at the Charles E. Taylor presentation given by Charles L. Taylor II at Aviation Industry Expo.
Katie is employed by FlightSafety International as the regional marketing manager for the southeastern United States.
Frontier becomes AMTSociety Corporate Sponsor
On Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 Frontier Airlines Inc. became the first airline corporate sponsor of AMTSociety. A ceremony to present a plaque took place at the Frontier Airlines AMT Program. On hand to receive the plaque were Jeff Potter, president/CEO; Chris Collins, vice president operations; and Ron McClellan, vice president maintenance and engineering, as well as more than 375 employees in attendance.
Redstone College first student chapter of AMTSociety
Redstone College, Denver Campus in Broomfield, CO, has become the first student chapter of AMTSociety. “This is the future of aircraft maintenance at its best,” states Hendershot. A plaque commemorating the occasion was presented to Director of Education Tim Guerrero and Director of Career Development Diane McDougall at the Denver IA Renewal on Wednesday, March 12, 2007.
Election of student officers was held April 18, 2007 with the following results. Kevin Lindsey, president; Travis Peter and Andrew Prior, co-vice presidents; Patrick Montressor, secretary; and Peter Hyatt, treasurer; faculty advisors are Jeff Barbee, Dave Jasperson, and Bill Whichelo.
