Vestergaard's Thailand Operation Delivers First Locally Made VTS To Bangkok Airways
Vestergaard Company Ltd., based in Nongkham,Thailand, has delivered a new VTS unit to Bangkok Airways Public Co., Ltd.
The airport on Koh Samui was opened in April 1989 and offers direct flights between the island and Chiang Mai, Hong Kong, Krabi, Pattaya, Phuket and Singapore.
Before the sale Vestergaard Company gave BKK Airways the opportunity to operate a demonstration VTS unit for two weeks. Operators were excited with the unit and stated that “The Vestergaard VTS unit is very easy to operate” and “Time to service an aircraft was significantly shorter than the 20 minutes that was used with the former- non-Vestergaard - equipment”.
Another feature, that was very important to BKK Airways in the decision to invest in a Vestergaard VTS, was the quality of the components (vacuum pump, stainless tank, service hose, coupling etc.) which they consider “The best available.”
Vestergaard Company Ltd. delivered the new VTS unit on Koh Samui last December. After a two-day January training of the local staff by Vestergaard Company’s country manager, the unit is now fully operational.
The Vestergaard VTS will be used to service A319 and ATR-72 at Samui International Airport.
For Vestergaard Company the sale was the first of a locally produced VTS to the Thai market. The sale became a reality through a good cooperation with Vestergaard’s local agent in Thailand, AVIATEC Ltd.
