Twist Aero has developed and launched its new product, the Boom Air Lite -- a streamlined version of the company's proprietary Boom Air Hose Management System.
The "Lite" version of the Boom Air product features virtually all the benefits of the original. It deploys 80 feet of hose while the original Boom Air is able to deploy up to 135 feet. Eighty feet of hose covers the vast majority of ramp applications. The Boom Air Lite product sells for less than the original Boom Air, is 30 percent lighter than the standard product and fills a substantially smaller dimensional envelope.
The benefits of Boom Air include easier, faster one-person deployment and retraction of PCAir hoses, leading to faster turns. The real economic benefit comes from significantly higher instances of attachment of PCAir hoses to the aircraft -- saving huge amounts of fuel from less APU burn at the gate. At today's Jet A prices, this savings has never been higher.
Recently, airports such as Miami International, San Antonio, Corpus Cristi, and Edmonton have joined the list of Boom Air customers.
