Glasgow Airport Breakdown Forces Passengers to Fly Without Luggage

Hundreds of passengers were forced to fly without their luggage yesterday when Glasgow airport’s baggage handling system broke down.
Furious travellers said they were told their luggage would be left behind when they were on the plane after seeing it being stored in a makeshift “holding area” in the terminal.
Airport chiefs said a breakdown of the luggage belts at both terminals affected up to 250 passengers and led to a backlog as baggage handlers struggled to keep to schedule.
