Frontier: Kicks Off Milwaukee-Philadelphia Service
Milwaukee County’s General Mitchell International Airport helped Frontier Airlines kick off its new service from MKE to Philadelphia June 2. All passengers enjoyed a celebration in the gate area featuring Frontier-themed cupcakes.
“Frontier’s growth here is a result of passengers choosing MKE as their starting point. We encourage Milwaukee and Illinois-area travelers to continue using MKE instead of the inconvenient airports in Chicago,” County Executive Chris Abele said. “Airlines like Frontier respond to increased demand in key markets like Philadelphia. This is a great example of how MKE succeeds when travelers choose their hometown airport for all of their travel.”
Frontier’s new flights to the City of Brotherly Love operate every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday with advertised fares as low as $69 each way.
“We know that Frontier’s low fares will be a big hit on this new route,” Airport Director Izzy Bonilla added. “With four Frontier route launches already this year, 2016 is shaping up to be a great year for growth at MKE.”
Earlier this year, Frontier launched new nonstop service from Milwaukee to Orlando, Dallas-Fort Worth and Atlanta. In all, Frontier now offers nonstop flights from MKE to seven destinations, including Denver, Fort Myers and Las Vegas.
So far in 2016, passenger traffic at MKE is up 3.3 percent compared to the same period in 2015.
