Jourik Hooghe will join Swissport International AG on Jan. 9, 2023 as group chief financial officer (CFO) and become a member of group management.

He succeeds Iván Nash Vila, who communicated his intention to step down from his position earlier this year. Hooghe joins Swissport from Wizz Air, one of the largest and fast-growing low-cost airlines in Europe. He will report to Warwick Brady, president and CEO of Swissport.

“I am pleased to announce Jourik Hooghe as our new Group CFO,” says Brady. “Jourik can draw on extensive industry experience in various senior finance and commercial roles. As the CFO of Wizz Air, he successfully guided the airline through the COVID economy. I look forward to having him on the team to support us in creating value for our customers and our shareholders.”

Before joining Swissport, Hooghe served as executive vice president and group CFO of Wizz Air. Prior to that, he was senior vice president group strategy, finance and accounting for the Adecco Group in Zurich, Switzerland, where he was instrumental in transforming the finance function, leveraging technology and business process improvement programs. His early career was spent at Procter & Gamble. He is also a non-executive director at International Distribution Services Plc. A Belgian national, Hooghe holds a degree in commercial engineering from KU Leuven university and is a resident of Switzerland.

“On behalf of the executive team and the board of directors, I would like to thank Iván for his exemplary contributions," says Brady. “Immediately upon joining Swissport, Iván's primary focus was on refinancing the company and putting in place a transformation plan for the finance function. With those objectives now in place, I would like to wish him the very best for the future.”
