ASIG®, an industry leader in aviation services, announced today that it has acquired the assets of gategroup’s aircraft cabin cleaning, de-icing and aircraft exterior washing business at London Heathrow Airport (LHR) and de-icing and aircraft exterior washing at London Gatwick Airport (LGW). Aircraft exterior washing is a new line of business for ASIG at these airports.

ASIG will be supported by sister company, Signature Flight Support, in operating the newly acquired businesses. ASIG will operate the businesses at London Heathrow Airport, while ASIG, supported by Signature Flight Support, will offer deicing and aircraft washing services at London Gatwick Airport.

Pat Pearse, Managing Director for BBA Aviation’s EMEA Flight Support Division commented on the acquisitions, “ASIG and Signature Flight Support are recognised globally as premium providers of flight support services. These acquisitions expand our efforts to provide our customers with world-class flight support services around the world. We look forward to welcoming the staff to the BBA Aviation family.”

This acquisition adds 19 new airline customers to ASIG’s existing customer portfolio. Both ASIG and Signature Flight Support are established in the United Kingdom with facilities serving most of the major airports in the region. ASIG is currently the sole provider of aircraft cleaning services for the Airbus A380 in the United Kingdom.
