ETF Calls for Financial Support for Europe's Ground Service Providers and Airports

The European Transport Workers' Federation (ETF) has issued a call for the immediate financial support of ground handling service providers and airports in Europe to protect air safety and the workers’ health and safety and wellbeing together with the necessary retention of jobs and salaries. 

The EFT estimates 58.5% of ground handling personnel are out of work. Despite the pleas from stakeholders in the ground handling industry, this section of the aviation industry and its workforce have mainly been left out of state aid packages, according to the EFT.
