The 2500 Qantas workers facing the sack if the airline outsources its domestic ground handling operation, have been given six weeks to pull together a bid to keep their jobs.
They must find a way to save $100 million a year in staffing costs, and another $80 million that the company would require to upgrade in-house equipment over the next five years by October 9, according to a presentation for employee representatives.
