Stansted Airport Apologizes for Luggage Delay

July 24, 2018
A Swissport representative said due to an increased volume of flights, ATC restrictions led to several aircraft arrving at the airport off-schedule.

Stansted Airport has issued an apology to customers after they were forced to queue for "hours" to collect luggage.

People have taken social media to vent their anger, with one passenger claiming that it took more time to collect his baggage than it took to fly in (July 22).

In response to the issue, Stansted has issued the following statement: “We are aware that some passengers experienced delays with collecting their baggage on returning to the airport this morning (22 July).

"This is disappointing and must be extremely frustrating for people. We can only apologise on behalf of everyone at Stansted Airport.

“We have organised for additional staff to supplement the Airline and Handling Agent teams over the summer holiday period and will continue to work with all our partners to understand what is causing these recent delays and help minimise the impact on passengers.”
