X-1FBO Joins Mission to Honor WWII Heroes

May 28, 2021

This Memorial Day, X-1FBO is announcing their collaboration with DreamFlight.org’s “Operation September Freedom, the largest barnstorming event in history.” X-1 is recruiting FBOs, donations and additional sponsors in a united effort to give our WWII heroes one more biplane dream flight.

Of the 16 million Americans who served in WWII, only an estimated 100,000 will be alive in 2021. The youngest will be 95.

The mission is to honor these brave veterans by gifting an open cockpit flight opportunity for possibly the last of these great ex-combatants.

Operation September..., named after the signing of the Japanese surrender, is a fly-free, non-profit mission. To help funding this initiative, X-1FBO is committed to recruiting as many FBOs and donations as possible through their client and partnership networks.

"Operation September Freedom is our last opportunity to honor the Greatest Generation, for their bravery and sacrifice, and for preserving the ideals and freedoms that make our country great," said Darryl Fisher, founder, and president of Dream Flights.
