WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK – There has been major construction progress at Million Air White Plains, at Westchester County Airport, for its new 22,000 sq. ft. terminal, 50,400 sq. ft. hangar and ramp facility upgrades, to meet the growing customer demand for enhanced services, expanded space and unique design at the Million Air White Plains Fixed-Based Operator (FBO). The $70 million project will be completed by the end of 2018, with the FBO scheduled for third quarter 2018 and hangar by the end of 2017.
The ambience of the new facility was designed to give a resort-like luxury feel. The FBO will include a 6,000-sq. ft. indoor valet for passengers and flight crews to pull directly in a climate controlled transition to the FBO, a stone framed complementary barista bar, multiple two-story dual fire places, elegant seating groups in a large great room, and wood beam ceilings reflective of the White Plains community.
The aviation complex today has 32,000 sq. ft. of hangar that with the expansion, the campus will total more than 82,000 sq. ft. of hangar space and 7.25 acres of ramp space. The hangar incorporates a partial curtain wall façade to showcases the aircraft within, with heights capable of housing a Gulfstream 650. Floors will be heated with a hi-tech radiant heat system allowing comfortable temperatures to be maintained for aircraft and pilot alike. Additional phases include a plan for a community of five state-of-the-art hangars.
