WY: Airport Board Declines to Look Into Changes to Hangar Leases

At the Valentine’s Day meeting of the Yellowstone Regional Airport Board, airport administration said researching changes Choice Aviation wanted to pursue on their plans to construct a dozen T-hangars at the facility could incur significant costs for the airport.

Rather than directing the airport-contracted attorney and engineering firm to look into the matter on Choice’s behalf, the YRA board opted to leave the lease as written for the time being.

The lease, which won board approval last fall, calls for Choice, YRA’s Fixed-Base Operator, to largely finance the construction of the units, which are set to be completed in July. To accommodate the FBO’s plans, the YRA board in October voted to request $200,000 in federal Airport Improvement Program grant money to extending taxi lanes to where the T-hangars are to be built.
