Jackson Hole Airport officials are shrugging off charges of cronyism and mismanagement and say their $26 million purchase of Jackson Hole Aviation is a financial boon that will benefit the community.
The purchase of the fixed-based operator, which services and houses privately owned aircraft, has been blasted by pilots, online instigators and the Wyoming Jet Center, a company that failed in its bid to compete in the local general aviation marketplace because of the airport’s purchase. The allegations notwithstanding, Airport Director Jim Elwood said the acquisition is a win for aviators and the flying public.
