The agreement includes functional support and consulting services to help refine asset performance management work processes, allowing the Colombian Air Force the ability to better manage maintenance programs.
The Colombian Air Force (COLAF) signed an agreement with GE Aviation to provide a comprehensive digital asset performance management solution for its fleet of Military aircraft. The agreement includes functional support and consulting services to help refine asset performance management work processes, allowing the Colombian Air Force the ability to better manage maintenance programs.
"Asset Performance Management implements world-class methodologies in maintenance and reliability analysis to increase the levels of reliability, readiness and availability of the aircraft fleet," said John Mansfield, chief digital officer for GE Aviation.
"GE Aviation´s APM technology and consulting services have changed the way COLAF looks at maintenance: from a traditional focus to a holistic risk-based approach where all elements are considered, along with strategy management, optimization and a continuous improvement process, which have impacted positively the readiness and availability of entire fleets," said Juan Mejia, GE Aviation´s Consultant for Colombian Air Force.
With the Asset Performance Management work process and platform, the Colombian Air Force will be able to manage its maintenance programs based on a risk-cost-benefit perspective. They have visibility of the events that have more impact on each fleet, allowing the prioritization of analytical initiatives (data mining, key performance indicators, root cause analysis, reliability engineer methodologies) and subsequent review of the actual risk mitigation strategy (OEM maintenance programs) using reliability centered maintenance and a risk-based perspective.
