Chatsworth, CA Ontic Engineering & Manufacturing, Inc. (Ontic), a BBA Aviation company and the aerospace industry’s leading provider of ‘Extended Life Solutions’ for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy products, has acquired the manufacturing rights from Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) for additional JT15D engine components.

This is Ontic’s third acquisition from P&WC and will strengthen the company’s portfolio of engine support capabilities. Ontic will manufacture and sell the additional components from its Chatsworth, CA facility and the parts will continue to be distributed through the JT15D new parts distributor, Aviall Services Inc.

“Beginning with our first engagement with P&WC in 2015, we had the intent to expand Ontic’s component offering for the JT15D,” stated Gareth Hall, President and Managing Director of Ontic. “The JT15D engine aligns with Ontic’s commitment to support legacy products and this further acquisition is a logical progression and expansion of our current services to our OEM partners. We value our relationship with P&WC and are looking forward to continuing the partnership.”

With more than 6,700 engines produced since the 1970s, the JT15D is used on a wide range of business aircraft, including the Cessna Citation II, Hawker 400A and Cessna Citation V. P&WC is an esteemed customer of the BBA Aviation family with Dallas Airmotive and H+S Aviation providing authorized maintenance, repair and overhaul support for many P&WC engines, including the JT15D.
