FreeFlight Announces Immediate Availability of Low-Cost, ADS-B Rule-Compliant RANGR Lite Systems

June 30, 2015
Approved for installation in over 400 light GA aircraft, the RANGR Lite systems: the FDL-978-TXL and FDL-978-XVRL Universal Access Transceiver (UAT) ADS-B radios, have been designed and manufactured to meet the quality standards for ADS-B compliance.

FreeFlight Systems announced today that the Company's line of affordable ADS-B systems are now shipping, and are available for installation. The RANGR Lite systems recently received FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) and Approved Model List (AML) certification.

Approved for installation in over 400 light general aviation (GA) aircraft, the RANGR Lite systems: the FDL-978-TXL and FDL-978-XVRL Universal Access Transceiver (UAT) ADS-B radios, have been designed and manufactured to meet the stringent quality standards required for ADS-B compliance, while offering the best value for aircraft equipage.

The RANGR Lite systems are available in two configurations; an ADS-B Out (only) system, the FDL-978-TXL priced at $1,995, and an ADS-B In/Out system, the FDL-978-XVRL priced at $3,695. Pricing for each system includes built-in WAAS/GPS, ADS-B and GPS antennas, an install kit, control head, and/or WiFi module if needed.

The RANGR Lite products are a part of the Company's Equip-It 2020 Program that offers ADS-B equipment for light GA aircraft that breaks the $2,000 barrier for a basic, but compliant, system. FreeFlight designed the Program in order to make it as easy as possible for light GA aircraft to take full advantage of the safety and additional benefits that ADS-B offers.

"Since announcing our Equip-It Program in April, we have received an extraordinary response for our certified, low-cost Lite units" said Tim Taylor, President and CEO of FreeFlight Systems. "We are ready to meet program requirements and ship systems at high rates." FreeFlight has committed to build 10,000 Lite systems in response to the clear demand from customers looking for a low-cost option for equipage to meet the January 1, 2020 mandate for ADS-B.

Installations of the systems are now underway, as participating program dealers receive RANGR Lite systems this month. The TXL and XVRL are easy to install, and requires minimal integration to the aircraft. FreeFlight Systems integrates with several compatible tablet devices and in-flight apps, and is a part of the ForeFlight Connect Program. FreeFlight's ADS-B products are the first certified solutions to integrate with ForeFlight.
