Olivier Chansou Appointed Director of the French National School of Civil Aviation

Olivier Chansou, 52, an engineer and member of the Corps des Ponts, des Eaux et des Forets, will become the 8th director of ENAC.

ENAC, The French national school of civil aviation, is delighted to announce the appointment of Olivier Chansou to the position of Director of the school.

Olivier Chansou, 52, an engineer and member of the Corps des Ponts, des Eaux et des Forets, will become the 8th director of ENAC. He will succeed Marc Houalla who has occupied the position since November 2008.

Olivier Chansou graduated from ENAC in 1988 and earned his degree as an engineer in Civil Aviation in 1993. He also holds a master’s in computer science and parallel computing.

Olivier Chansou has extensive professional experience in the French civil aviation authority (Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile, or DGAC):

-        1990 – 1995: Head of the subdivision "On Board Equipment" in the air navigation technical service (STNA) in Paris

-        1995 – 1998: Deputy head of the "Real Time" department in the operations office of the department of air navigation services (DSNA) in Paris

-        1998 – 2002: Deputy office head of "technical personnel" of the DSNA in Paris

-        2002 – 2006: Head of "systems and methods" department of the Operations office of the DSNA in Paris

-        2006 – 2009: Head of En Route Air Navigation Centre (CRNA) for the southwest, Bordeaux.

-        2009 – 2012: Deputy-director of personnel of the DGAC in Paris

-        2012 – 2017: Director of 4 departments of DSNA southwest, in Bordeaux (CESNAC, SIA, SNA/SO and CRNA/SO). 

The École Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC) is the school of the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) and is under the authority of the Ministère de la Transition écologique et solidaire (Ministry of Ecological and Cooperative Transition).  It is a training and research institute specialising in aeronautical engineering, air navigation and piloting aircraft.
