Publisher: AMTSociety Maintenance Skills Competition 2011

Sept. 5, 2014
The 4th Annual AMTSociety Maintenance Skills Competition (MSC) was an outstanding event again this year with 26 teams competing.

The 4th Annual AMTSociety Maintenance Skills Competition (MSC) was an outstanding event again this year. Twenty-six teams in competition and even more great prizes for the participants and of course the winning teams.

Congratulations to our first place team winners, for the second year in a row: Southwest Airlines representing the commercial airlines; U.S. Navy Gold team representing the military; Redstone representing schools; Team Colorado representing general aviation; and AMP team (Association of Maintenance Professionals) representing the MRO/OEM category. The team with the fastest score of two hours, 44 minutes, and 24 seconds was Southwest which means the team also won the William “Bill” O’Brien Award for Excellence in Aircraft Maintenance which was presented by Marie O’Brien.

International teams this year were from China (Lode), Mexico, and Australia. Team Mexico came in third place in the MRO/OEM category. And the Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers' Association (ALAEA) came in second in the commercial category.

I would like to thank Maintenance Skills Competition Chairman, Ken MacTiernan and the rest of the AMTSociety board of directors for doing a great job arranging the events and the overall competition.

Looking forward to next year's MSC event; be sure to get your team signed up for the 2012 competition and mark those calendars for March 7-9, 2012 in Las Vegas.

Until next time we’ll see you online: forums.AMTonline.com
