Electronics & Engineering Wins the Transport Category InAVation Awards 2018 for Changi Airport Terminal Project

March 16, 2018

Electronics & Engineering Pte Ltd (E&E) has been presented with the 2018 InAVation Award in the Transport category for their latest project, Changi Airport Terminal 4 in Singapore. This is the second award that E&E has received since 2015, where they were awarded as winners in the International Category for their Singapore Sports Hub project.

This year’s award was presented to Electronics & Engineering Pte Ltd (E&E) Deputy Managing Director, Gary Goh at the 2018 InAVation Awards ceremony on February 6th in Amsterdam during ISE 2018. Also present at the awards ceremony was NanoLumens CEO Rick Cope.

“We are indeed honored to receive this international award and I would like to share this success with my team and our partners from NanoLumens and Moment Factory. It is with their unending support and commitment throughout that has enabled us to deliver this project. We appreciate and would like to thank the Changi Airport team who had the vision and commitment to create a totally new standard for passenger experience.” Gary Goh said today.

The Changi Airport Terminal 4 project includes two large, architecturally integrated interior LED Screens with processors, media players and associated content management system, backup solutions, network, monitoring, audio system and a range of related equipment and services.

With its unique design, the 70m x 5m long Immersive Wall spans across the Centralised Departure Security Screening area. A total of 17 different immersive content capsules, each lasting about two to four minutes, showcasing Singapore’s skyline, ASEAN landmarks, and also a whimsical animated clip of suitcases being screened before flights have been developed to be screened on the LED display.

Befitting the heritage theme, a key highlight of the Heritage Zone is Peranakan Love Story, a six-minute theatrical performance of a love story between two young adults, set in 1930s Singapore. The video is played on a 10m x 6m LED screen spanning two shopfronts, embedded within the facade. The digital wall transforms the facade into a theatre, with a stage setting reflecting the living rooms of the two Peranakan homes.

According to NanoLumens CEO Rick Cope, “Successful installations like Changi Airport are the result of a tremendous team who are committed to working together to help a client to achieve their dream. That’s exactly what happened with this installation. We view the E&E team as an extension of our own team. We share the same values and commitment to exceed our clients’ highest expectations. All of us at NanoLumens salute everyone at E&E who made this award possible."

“This international recognition is a great testimony in showcasing E&E’s ongoing commitment, perseverance and reliability. It also further strengthens ongoing relationships with our partners which we have continued to foster and treasure through the years.” added Ronald Goh, managing director, Electronics & Engineering Pte Ltd.
