Work which began last year to refurbish Mena Municipal Airport’s Taxiway Bravo is nearing the funding stage, as the airport commission and Mena City Council both gave the approval to apply for Federal Aviation Administration grant.
“The grant money is available, but we have to submit an application, which we are in the process of doing,” said Fred Ogden, airport manager. “The FAA has to formally accept our application and the city will then formally accept the funds. Our formal application will include cost estimates based on from firm bids.”
There are two portions of the project, the first to move and refurbish Taxiway Bravo.
