ELKHART, Ind. – Elkhart Municipal Airport has been awarded an approximately $800,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration, according to Mayor Tim Neese.
The airport intends on improving safety with the awarded funds. The grant will allow installation of airfield guidance signs and reconstructed taxiway lighting.
The new LED lighting will also reduce energy consumption and costs.
