SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - For the first time since 2006 the Santa Barbara Airport is getting an upgrade to its main runway.
Three flights will be cancelled to clear a schedule for the work. They are all on United Airlines. The early morning 5:30 a.m. flight to Denver, the 5:45 flight to Los Angeles and one late night arrival after 11 p.m.
The runway has not had significant work in 12 years and "if you think about aircraft weighing thousands of pounds landing daily on our main runway over time we need to resurface it to keep it safe
and in it's best operating condition," said airport spokesperson Deanna Zachrisson.
