WESTERLY — Emergency responders provided assistance at Westerly Airport Wednesday afternoon after a plane attempting to land in the northwestern corner of the airport missed the runway before coming to rest in a grassy area beside the tarmac.
No injuries were reported in the incident, which took place shortly after 2 p.m., and officials confirmed that damage to the plane was limited to the landing gear.
