Allegiant Air will launch a new nonstop flight from Indianapolis International Airport (IND) to Palm Springs (PSP) beginning Nov. 18.

Allegiant Air will launch a new nonstop flight from Indianapolis International Airport (IND) to Palm Springs (PSP) beginning Nov. 18.

The new Allegiant flight marks 20 nonstop flights added to the Indy airport’s roster in 2021, and the ninth new destination out of Indy announced this year.

“Palm Springs is a top leisure destination for travelers across the country, and it’s among the top 10 unserved California markets that are in demand from Indy – so this is great news for Hoosier travelers,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez.

Currently, the Indianapolis airport offers nonstop service to Los Angeles (LAX) on Allegiant, American and Delta. United also plans to resume service to San Francisco (SFO) out of Indy in September.

Rodriguez said the operations base Allegiant established at the Indy airport in 2018 has been advantageous, allowing the airline to be more agile during pandemic recovery with their route schedule and flight frequency.

“A hallmark of Allegiant’s service is to connect travelers to warmer destinations where they can enjoy a variety of outdoor leisure activities,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s senior vice president of revenue and network planning. “And we’ve continued that tradition with this expansion by giving customers more affordable, nonstop options to visit California during the fall and winter seasons.”

Currently, Allegiant flies nonstop from Indianapolis to 14 destinations, including Austin (Texas), Boston, Charleston and Myrtle Beach (South Carolina), Savannah, Rapid City (North Dakota), Los Angeles – and the Florida cities of Destin/Ft. Walton Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando/Sanford, Punta Gorda, Sarasota/Bradenton, St. Petersburg and West Palm Beach.

The new flight to Palm Springs in November will mark 15 destinations out of Indy for Allegiant, and is part of a 22-route expansion across the airline’s network, launching just in time to plan winter holiday getaways.
