ACI Recognized Moscow Domodedovo Airport as the Best Airport in Europe

March 1, 2021

Airports Council International (ACI World) recognized Moscow Domodedovo Airport (DME) as the best airport in Europe.

Despite the unprecedented level of flight restrictions, Moscow Domodedovo Airport continues to confidently move forward using new technologies to improve the quality of passenger service. Domodedovo was the first airport in Russia to launch a COVID-19 testing in the passenger terminal. In total, there are four test points at the airport, as well as a vaccination point, where any citizen (or resident) of the Russian Federation can get a free vaccination. Moreover, in 2020 the airport introduced a new service for airlines — preventive disinfection of aircraft.

In 2020, Domodedovo became the leader in passenger traffic among the airports of the Moscow aviation hub in December, and in August it updated the historical maximum of passenger traffic on domestic flights. Also, according to the ACI Europe report, by the end of June, DME became the busiest airport in Europe.
