Airports Council International - Latin America and the Caribbean congratulates Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) for achieving the accreditation of all airports of the group in Level 1 of the ACI Airport Carbon Accreditation program (ACA).

The nine airports operated by the group received the accreditation in level one - Mapping of the ACA program for creating a complete & independently verified carbon inventory and outlining plans on how to reduce these emissions.

“We recognize the efforts and dedication of Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste in the mitigation of the impact of its operations on the environment, by creating a complete, independently verified inventory of carbon emissions and outlining plans for how to reduce these emissions. Excellent work!” mentioned Rafael Echevarne, director general of ACI-LAC.

The Airport Carbon Accreditation program is the industry standard for airport carbon management certification. With four different levels of accreditation covering all stages of carbon management (Mapping, Reduction, Optimisation and Neutrality), Airport Carbon Accreditation is independently administered, institutionally-endorsed and has the support of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), US Federal Aviation Administration and the European Commission (EC).
