GNV Announces New Nonstop DFW Flight Options

April 3, 2019

Additional flights between Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV) and Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) begin today, complementing existing daily service with a night flight from DFW and a morning flight from GNV. The airport is promoting the new service with a “Take Off to DFW, Connect with the World” Regional Transit System (RTS) bus wrap, featuring a colorful design incorporating a DFW logo with the Dallas Skyline, an airplane wing, a runway, and GNV’s yellow Labrador Explosive K9 Sniffer, Beamer.

The new service includes a night flight departing DFW at 7 p.m., arriving GNV 10:25 p.m. and a morning flight departing GNV at 7:40 a.m., arriving DFW 9:30 a.m. The nonstops, which initially started Mar. 3, provide GNV passengers with access to over 90 new routes that weren’t previously served by existing American Airlines hubs of Charlotte (CLT) and Miami (MIA). The flights between GNV and DFW are now operated twice daily.

The newly wrapped “Take Off to DFW, Connect with the World” bus operates daily on Route 25 between the University of Florida (UF) Commuter Lot and GNV, making stops along the campus and downtown Gainesville before heading north on Waldo Road to GNV’s entrance on NE 39th Street, dropping and picking up passengers in front of the airport terminal.

“The convenience provided by these additional flights and the colorful DFW-Beamer bus are wonderful for our passengers and our airport,” said Allan Penksa, CEO, Gainesville Alachua County Regional Airport Authority (GACRAA). “The nonstop flights to DFW have been popular and well received by our community. The bus wrap is an eye-catching moving billboard reminding folks around town of this great new travel option, and to Fly GNV.”
