Airport Lounge Development Inc. (ALD) on Dec. 18 announced that two of its 17 shared-use lounges, The Club BWI at Baltimore-Washington International Airport and The Club MCO at Orlando International Airport, have been recognized for exceptional service and exemplary business facilities.
The Club BWI, which opened in May 2017 and is one of ALD’s newest lounges, was recognized for “Best Attitude & Service.” In addition to delivering an excellent hospitality experience, The Club BWI provides sweeping views of the airfield as well as complimentary items and services such as a buffet with an antipasto deli bar; a premium selection of alcohol, wine and beer; and use of business facilities including a computer and printer.
“The Club BWI exemplifies our focus on a clear set of Brand Standards and Service Values,” says Nancy Knipp, Senior Vice President at ALD. “The Club lounges take feedback very seriously by providing in-lounge opportunities to rate service, cleanliness, quality and food and beverage. This real-time data enables ALD’s lounge managers to promptly respond to guests and incorporate ideas into future operations. The staff take great pride in delivering an exceptional hospitality experience.”
The Club MCO, which was designed by Gregory S. Ibanez FAIA, a recipient of 21 AIA awards for design excellence, was awarded “Best Business Facilities.” The lounge additionally received an overall, “Highly Commended” recognition for North America. A key feature of The Club MCO business facilities are the individual rooms that allow guests to take calls in private. In addition to its awarding-winning business facilities, The Club MCO offers a Kids Zone, Refresh Zone, Rest Zone and Replenish Zone.
“The design of our lounges incorporates feedback from our guests and insight gained from operating Clubs for over 10 years. The Club MCO facility was designed to create a sense of place and provide zones to serve the varied needs of our guests,” says Knipp. “ALD congratulates The Club BWI and The Club MCO for receiving recognition in this prestigious awards program.”
