Duke to Lead West Region Aviation Practice at WSP

James Duke has been named vice president and West region aviation principal at WSP USA.

In his new position, Duke, who is based in the firm’s Orange, California office, leads the firm’s client relations and business development activities for aviation in the region encompassing California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Alaska and Hawaii. He will also provide oversight and support services to project managers on aviation assignments throughout the region to assure client satisfaction and technical excellence.

Duke has more than 20 years of experience in planning, design and construction of airport infrastructure, including airfield, terminal, utility, and access roadway projects. He has served as program/project manager on numerous projects at major international hub airports across the U.S., including Los Angeles International, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County International Airports. 

Duke holds a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. A licensed professional engineer in California and Texas, he is a member of the American Association of Airport Executives, American Society of Civil Engineers, Transport and Development Institute, and the Construction Management Association of America. He has served as moderator, presenter and panel member at numerous aviation industry and association conferences.
