Louis Wolinetz, a principal consultant at WSP USA, will participate in roundtable discussions on public-private partnership (P3) aviation projects as part of the Public-Private Partnership Airport Summit in San Diego on July 24-25.
Organized by P3C, with WSP serving as a silver sponsor, the conference will address the latest modes of airport infrastructure delivery, focusing on P3 development, project management, and networking for airport owners, operators and industry professionals.
Wolinetz will participate in a roundtable discussion that will be held during the summit’s opening breakfast on July 24. He will be joined by industry leaders for an interactive conversation specifically tailored to the needs of airport authorities evaluating P3s. This pre-summit session is designed for those beginning to explore P3s, helping them understand where P3s can be applicable; and how they can save money and time when dealing with upgrades, repairs and maintenance.
Wolinetz will also facilitate a discussion titled “Piloting Your Way to Success! Project Champions on the Owner’s Side.” This roundtable, taking place on July 24, will address the role that often falls to agency officials when they are tasked with bringing to life the vision of political leaders. He will also participate in a roundtable discussion on July 25 titled “Airports Coming of Age – What’s Over the Horizon and What Assets Make Sense for P3.”
“P3s are a model that creates tremendous opportunities in the airport sector,” Mr. Wolinetz comments. “Recent examples include the Central Terminal Building project at LaGuardia, the Landside Access Modernization Program at Los Angeles International, San Juan Airport and Westchester County Airport. We will discuss how public and private proponents can encourage/educate airport executives, boards and politicians to stimulate consideration of P3s and avoid the pitfalls that often come from misunderstanding the alternative project delivery mechanism.”
