San Antonio International Airport Volunteers Make a Difference

April 12, 2017

San Antonio International Airport has more than 200 volunteers who spend hours assisting customers each day. With just four months into the year, the SAT Ambassador Program has already surpassed previous goals. The month to month analysis shows the ambassadors  have recorded the highest numbers for assisting  travelers in the terminals, travelers  needing foreign language assistance and shuttle service.

The SAT Ambassador Program volunteers assist airport customers with way-finding, city information, information on transportation, hotels, dining, shopping area attractions, points of interest, answer questions and also share interesting facts about San Antonio International Airport and Stinson Municipal Airport. The ambassadors also operate golf cart shuttles to transport passengers between parking and terminals.

The award-winning program also has dogs on the team who roam the terminals with their humans  and often just provide a bit of stress relief to travelers.
