Mihail Kogalniceanu Airport to Receive Financing of €136 Million from European Funds

Apr. 19—The Mihail Kogalniceanu International Airport in southeastern Constanta County will receive financing — European funds, to boost the security and safety of passenger traffic, announced, on Tuesday, the Minister of Transports and Infrastructure, Sorin Grindeanu.

He signed with the director of the airport, Bogdan Ionut Artagea, the financing contracts of three projects, namely "Access control video surveillance system", "Boosting the security and safety of passenger traffic at Mihail Kogalniceanu Constanta International Airport" and "Upgrade beacon lights runway 36".

The Minister of Transport stressed that both Constanta International Airport and Constanta Port are priorities for the Government and the Ministry.

In his turn, Bogdan Ionut Artagea gave assurances that the three projects will be implemented in a maximum of one year.

The event was also attended by the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Ciolacu.
