Passenger Transportation Via Iran's Rast International Airport Increases

Feb. 8—The number of passengers transported through the Rasht Sardar-e-Jangal International Airport in the Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by 17 percent, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through December 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.

According to the statistics, a total of 195,380 passengers were transported through Rasht Airport in 9 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 167,521.

"Moreover, 2,069 tons of cargo were transported through the airport within the mentioned period. Cargo transportation increased by 25 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 1,652 tons of cargo had been transported via the airport in the same period last Iranian year," the statistics said.

Over 9 months, 2,708 passenger planes took off and landed at the Rasht Sardar-e-Jangal International Airport, which is an increase of 14 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. The figure amounted to 2,386 in the same period last Iranian year.
