WA: Port Hopes to Keep Airport Open During Runway Rehab

The Port of Port Townsend is hoping to keep the Jefferson County International Airport open during its rehabilitation project in the upcoming year.

The work will include a full resurfacing of the runway. The port submitted its preliminary design drawings for the project to the Federal Aviation Administration Nov. 26, along with a request to the FAA to approve the use of the parallel taxiway as a temporary runway during construction.
