CA: Troops Move in to Repair Catalina Island’s Airport in the Sky

Troops have invaded Catalina Island. No, not for any military action, but to repair the airport.

U.S. Marines and Navy troops recently brought 500 tons of equipment and tools shipped from the Port of Los Angeles to the Airport in the Sky in preparation for a $5 million repair project on the main runway. Roughly 100 troops will arrive to begin work the first week in January and are expected to finish by mid April.
