KS: Vinland Airport Owner Makes Emergency Plane Landing in Resident’s Yard

The owner of Vinland Airport was forced to make an emergency landing Saturday in a private yard near the airport.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report, David McFarlane, 67, of Baldwin City, was practicing engine-fail maneuvers shortly before noon Saturday in a rebuilt 1970 Cessna near the Vinland Airport when the plane’s engine failed to restart.
