May 16, 2018

Kertajati International Airport in Majalengka, West Java, is set to launch flight operations in time for the annual Idul Fitri exodus.

PT Bandara Internasional Jawa Barat (BIJB) president director Virda Dimas Ekaputra said five routes would be served during the holiday period, namely those connecting the airport with Medan, Balikpapan, Surabaya, Bali and Makassar.

“For the exodus flights, [operations] will begin on June 5. This, as well as the five destinations, have been discussed with the Transportation Ministry through the Directorate General of Air Transportation,” Virda said to kompas.com on Tuesday, adding that the flight frequency would be adjusted to passengers’ needs.
